11.37.3.1 How to crop figures but make all have same heights?

My center image has a different aspect ratio than the left and right images. I want them to have the same heights but when I do the crop I get something like this. How can I crop the middle image but ...

In my latex .cls file (I have it from some old template) I have renewcommand for \chapter, \section and \subsection to change \tableofcontents visually in .tex file: 
\renewcommand\chapter{ 
\if@... 
[amsmath] [chapters] [sections-paragraphs] [renewcommand] [subsection]
